Herrieden is a small, quaint city in the upper Altmühl boasting a 1200-year history. Recommended attractions include the former collegiate church with baroque interior created by Gabriel de Gabrieli, the crane tower, Martinskirche church, the herb gardens in Elbersroth and much more. Herriede offers ideal recreation facilities (indoor and outdoor swimming pools, mini golf, tennis, riding stables, model aeroplanes) as well as charming walking and hiking paths (a 10-minute walk away).
